The Vancouver Australian Football Club (Cougars) is now identifying sponsors for the 2008 season of the
NorthWest Pacific Australian Football League. If your corporation or organization is interested in supporting the
most successful Football Club in the NWPAFL, please take the time to read through the attached package.
The Vancouver Cougars are pleased to offer a complete range of Sponsorship Packages for every level of
organization and financial considerations. Importantly, we also appreciate that not all sponsors wish to contribute
purely by financial donations and we welcome any other forms of assistance. In many cases, this involves the
donation of goods, merchandise, gift certificates and equipment. If you do not see a package that meets your need
and are interested in sponsoring the Cougars, our Marketing Representative would be happy to sit down with you to
discuss your needs and develop a package to suit them.
Running a sports club is not without its everyday costs and we sincerely appreciate all forms of support.

Australian Football in Canada
AFL Canada was established in May 1989 when two clubs were formed and played in the inaugural Conacher Cup game in Toronto, Ontario. Since then, the game of Australian football in Canada has expanded to include fifteen clubs, a junior development program and a national team. AFL Canada promotes and supports the sport of Australian Football in Canada, as well as being the national governing body for all Australian football leagues and clubs in Canada. AFL Canada oversees Canada's national Australian football team, which competes in international football matches and competitions, as well as managing a national junior development program.
Football in Western Canada
January 2001 witnessed the beginnings of Australian football in Western Canada with the creation of the Vancouver Australian Football Club, the "Cougars". The first official Australian Rules Football club in British Columbia. Since then, there has been a rapid growth in the region. Presently there are six teams throughout BC and Alberta, with the prospects of future development looking bright.
Vancouver Cougars Club Overview
The Cougars are a non-profit Australian Football Club based in Vancouver. Formed in 2001, the team has had much success throughout its short history. The club is comprised of over 125 members, consisting of players, officials and supporters, and competes in the NorthWest Pacific Australian Football League against teams from Burnaby, Victoria, Seattle, Calgary and Red Deer. The season runs from April through September, with both home and away games, as well as tournaments throughout Canada and the United States. In 2005, the Cougars made history by competing in the US Nationals. The first team from outside the USA to compete in this renowned tournament. Distinguishing themselves with an undefeated record of 2-0, which they aim to better at the 2008 tournament in Las Vegas.
The successful running of the Cougars necessitates a number of expenses. The club has various ongoing costs to support a season’s activity, including league fees, uniforms, training equipment and medical supplies, transportation costs, as well as awards and trophies. In order to survive the club relies upon corporate and business funding from generous sponsors such as yourself.
